Time for Another "Screw This Place!" Night at the Bar...

For the 2nd time in a month, my company has fired a bunch of people.
Most of them were at least adequate at their jobs, and none were acknowledged as being let go because of performance issues.

Instead, people are being cut because the retards in charge have their heads jammed so far up their asses they can see out their own mouths.

Hundreds of thousands (possibly much more) of dollars have been spent in the past year on a project that was supposed to revolutionize the way we do business. It was announced at trade shows and industry events as the next great idea in our industry.
Today I found out it's being shut down and the team of programmers that have been trying to build it have all been let go.

It has become common practice to publicly announce every good idea we have, then blow a shitload of money trying to figure out how to make it happen, then scrap the idea entirely and fire everyone who was involved with any aspect of it. (except the executive-level people who blindly dove into it, of course)
Figure out how to do something before launching a PR campaign and telling everyone how awesome it's going to be? Fuck that! That's how jerks operate a business. It's easier to just come up with a cool name and blindly flail away until it becomes absolutely necessary to cut away 30 or 40 salaries to stop the bleeding.

That's exceptional leadership. Good job, assholes.
